Tooth Fillings

Over 95% of the  fillings we place each year are Tooth Colored Restorations.  Many people still have silver/amalgam fillings in their mouths from years past. These fillings are not particularly pleasing to the eye, but are still an available option. However,  Tooth Colored Restorations create fillings that are not only beautiful but also add strength to weakened teeth. These restorations are esthetically pleasing and very strong thanks to new bonding technologies.

Advantages of Tooth-Colored Restorations

There are many advantages to tooth-colored restorations. We use bonded, resin composite materials to create Tooth Colored Restorations to replace amalgam fillings or restore tooth structure lost to decay, wear, and/or fracture.  The tooth remains intact and stronger. Since the resin composite materials contain fluoride this can help prevent decay. The resin also wears like natural teeth. Unfortunately, for severely compromised teeth, a crown may be more appropriate than a filling .
